Oh Boy,
This past year has not been the greatest. There have been many set backs and personal matters that caused me a great deal of grief.
I am sorry for the lack of... art... I am hoping to be more active in regards to art and well… just in general here on DA… I have not done a lot, I have lost the will/want to do art. There are some other factors to sabotage my art drive as well… but I'm not going to talk about them.
But…
I have gone to the Calgary Comic Convention recently as you can tell from the photos I have uploaded, and seeing all the artist tables, and the wide range of art offered. How some artists are AMAZING and some artist... well... :/... yeah.. I guess you could say, made me question as to why there were there…. but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and each to their own... It has made me realize that my art is not that bad, in fact, its pretty good compared to some of the artists that were offering their art there. Looking at the wide range of art has help to inspire me.
I have also met one of my favorite artists of all time, who draws beautiful women, Adam Hughes!! Woo! I bought one of his prints and he did a head sketch of Rogue for me. Hurray oh and I bought his drawing DVD. YIPPY KY EH!
Going to the convention and seeing all the art, and artist tables, well it has assisted me in finding my artistic Mojojojo back.... sorta.
I have decided to do bigger art than my usual ACEO's (2.5 inches x 3.5 inches). My drawing of Batman and Catwoman is not the usual ACEO size. Instead its bigger. Its kind of refreshing going to a bigger size of art. Sketch cards I do find rewarding because they are so small and 'quick' to do... I put quick in quotations because for me they are not quick at all or as they should be. I put in so much time for detailing with ACEO's that it might even take longer than a bigger piece.
